Our Unsilencing is a movement and media training initiative that is incubating America's next generation of public intellectuals. We uplift underrepresented voices in the news media with a focus on political commentary.

Our bootcamp provides intensive training in commentary across platforms (op-eds, personal essays, and reported commentary for radio, TV and social media). It is led by Jean Guerrero at USC Annenberg in partnership with Unseen, originally conceived at the UCLA Latina Futures 2050 Lab.

 

Since January 2025, Our Unsilencing has helped emerging writers develop op-eds and other work that has been published in Time Magazine, the New Republic, Teen Vogue, the Los Angeles Times, the Arizona Republic, the Sacramento Bee, Golden State, the Latino Newsletter and more.
